  • Laura Burns

    Laura Burns, M. Ed., taught for 27 years in private education. Twenty of those years were spent with pre-readers. She was chosen Early Childhood Teacher of the Year in 2013 and Lower School Teacher of the Year in 2019. She is passionate about creating a fun, engaging environment for students to confidently grow in their abilities. She is looking forward to using her experience to help young students find an excitement for learning and reading!

  • Christy Rose

    I am delighted to be a part of the Remarkable Readers Community. I hold a certification for teaching grades K-6 and currently instructing 4th grade students. It is my objective to establish a warm and inviting classroom environment where all students can thrive during our time together. My experience of teaching in the classroom for the past 5 years has taught me that students have diverse ways of comprehending mathematics and sometimes require a more personalized approach to enrichment. I am committed to assisting my students in overcoming any challenges they may encounter in math. During my free time, I love watching my son play baseball and traveling on cruises.

  • Emily Harvard

    Emily has been a first grade teacher for 5 years. She has a Masters in curriculum and instruction. She is located in Mobile, Alabama and she is passionate about using multisensory activities to help students grow in their math and reading skills. Emily loves to see how much growth students can make in just a short amount of time! In her free time, she enjoys being involved in church activities and spending time with her husband and her dog. She's looking forward to serving students in the Mobile area.

    I have always had a passions for learning and bringing the joy of reading and science to children of various ages. Sixteen years in education has afforded me opportunities to work with numerous students who need individualized instruction to meet students where they are. When my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 6, I became very aware of the vast number of students who need individualized support outside of school hours. I can help your child too!

  • Maggie Jamerson

    I am passionate about helping children develop the confidence to feel successful in the classroom! I have taught for 18 years and love the moment when a child learns something. I use fun interactive lessons to help students comprehend the concepts of reading and math. I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I enjoy researching about how children learn and ways I can help each child improve individually.

  • Chere Hickman

    Chere is teaching with RR! She is a 3rd grade special education teacher at Alcorn County Elementary. She is ready to help her friends K-12th grade in surrounding Mississippi areas. She knows how to build your child's skills in reading and math! She believes in the Remarkable Readers program because it helped her daughter too!

  • Amy Miliskas

    Amy is a first grade teacher with 13 years of experience! She was named Bartlett City Schools Teacher of the Year in 2021. She is ready to help her friends K-6th in Bartlett, TN become stronger readers. She loves phonics and the science of reading. She can't wait to build more confident readers!

  • Megan Tate

    Megan taught middle school for 5 years, then tried the corporate world for a few years. This made her realize how much she loved teaching, so she's back in the classroom now teaching high school English. She has tutored elementary, middle, high school, ACT, and college. She has a passion for learning and reading, as well as real-world experience with necessary reading, writing, and grammar skills. She is located in East Memphis.

  • Deauna Wayson

    In her 33 years of classroom teaching experience, Deauna Wayson has taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th grades. She is an avid reader and strives to instill a love of reading in her students. She loves phonics, grammar, and all types of literature. She knows that a good phonics foundation is vital for beginning readers. She is skilled at choosing literature for older readers and motivating them to read!

    My name is Rebecca Adams. Most call me Becky. I have 2 grown daughters, 3 grandchildren and 3 bonus grands.

    Currently, I am a retired public school teacher. I taught 28 years and loved it. I taught all ages: elementary for 2 years, middle school for 23 years, and high school for 3 years. Teaching reading has always been my passion. I hold a BSE in Early Childhood/Elementary Ed. and an MSE in Curriculum:Reading. I also have National Board Certification in Literacy. I am currently living my best life in Germantown, TN

  • Beth Gaillard

    My name is Beth Gaillard. I am a retired Special Education teacher having taught for 32 years at Pine Grove School. I have worked with students in Kindergarten, Ist, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I have the following degrees: a B.S. in

    Elementary Education from Blue Mountain Christian University, a Master's in Special Education from the University of Mississippi, and also a Master's in Dyslexia Therapy from Mississippi College. My hobby is reading. I enjoy spending time with my nieces and their families. I am excited to be part of the Remarkable Readers team!

    Britney brings over 21 years of dedicated teaching experience, specializing in grades K-8. Throughout her career, she has taught third, fourth, fifth, and first grades, spending most of her time in the first grade classroom.

    Britney is passionate about helping students strengthen their reading and math skills, and is eager to continue fostering academic growth and confidence in young learners
